The Summer’s coming!
Next Friday, 8th April, will see the London Saints Cricket team begin their pre-season training. It’s time for the annual dinner where some glittering prizes will be on offer. We will meet in a pub in Victoria before moving on to a Sri Lankan restaurant.
Just to get you in the mood, here’s DT review of the 2010 season.
Season ends with entertaining draw
London Saints CC’s traditional season ender at Ex-Blues ended in an entertaining draw and a barrel of beer in front of the footie!
Wath has Gents worried
Gents were cruising to victory but they hadn’t reckoned on The Wath’s unpredictable bowling. Unfortunately it was not to be but as ever, fun was had by all.
Prepare yourself – report by Trev!
Platt pip London Saints
In what is always a close game, London Saints lose – on the last ball of the day – against Platt CC in our annual double header 20/20 game
London Saints lose again – but no disgrace
The headline is the choice of match reporter Dave Nanton, and it’s appropriate. They were just a shade too strong for us
Wal’stow Horizontals 278-3 (Van Marle 1-35, Griffiths 1-26)
London Saints 201-8 (Walters 70, Barber 45) – 40 overs
Trouble with the kids!
We all love our little darlins’ but going on tour does offer a weekend’s respite from the chaos of young kids – not so for one London Saint!
Sketchy report by Peter Berkeley
C’mon you Ute-ies!
Back to the pub in the season’s pick up driven by Farmer Jack White Viv Jones followed our first win of the season over Coldharbour by 63 runs.
LSSC 211-9 (Paula 91, Professor 24)
Coldharbour 148 (‘Out’ 3-17, Floater 3-30, Hilda 2-32)
Largely accurate reporting by Steve Keenan
Back down to earth!
After the heady delights of Lords it was back down to earth as Cincinatti handed London Saints a right old spanking!
Report by Gavin Van Marle
Cincinatti v LSCC – Sun 20th June – Dulwich
Cincinatti 252 for 2 (Griffiths 1-5)
LSCC 86 all out (Mayhew, Barber, Assam – all 14)
What a day!
The 30th anniversary cricket match at Lords went better than any of us could have dared to anticipate. A nailbitiing finish with everyone contributing, a significant sum raised for charity – and the weather came good!
