Support the London Saints Half Marathon Runners
On Sunday March 16th fifteen intrepid London Saints Cricket Club members have all volunteered their services to run the Fleet Half Marathon in Hampshire. What seemed like a fun idea many months ago in the mild autumn is now approaching reality and there is now no turning back!! Slogging their way through the wet winter months training, this ageing (with one exception) troupe now all deserve your support so please dig generously.
45 London Saints travel out to Trinidad and Tobago this May for a 14 day cricket tour, playing 4 matches (including one at The Queen’s Park Oval test match ground), having a government reception and television and radio commitments. As we did when touring Sri Lanka in 2006, we would like to raise some money directly for local good causes so we can see a real difference on the ground. When we are there, we will visit the three good causes which we have chosen and are in contact with them about the specific items they require be it educational/sporting equipment or small building projects. They are:
- The Happy Haven School in Tobago for children with developmental difficulties
- The School for Blind Children in Santa Cruz, Trinidad and
- The Trinidad and Tobago Blind Cricket Team
I hope you all agree that these are all worthy causes and deserve your support. If you would like to support any of the following 15 brave souls, or the London Saints as a whole, in their venture to raise funds please click on the link below and donate a sum no matter how small.
We will update the LSSC website and Facebook pages and post details of the fundraising efforts and show where the money went before, during and after the tour.
