Sad news that Nick Head died on Friday night 12th September at his home in Spain
From Terry :-
Since Nick moved to Ayamonte permanently, possibly a bit earlier than expected due to COVID, and he was regularly visited by many London Saints members, of which Reggie and I probably topped the list.
When visiting Nick we usually incorporated trips with him to places on route to Ayamonte to such places as Lisbon, Seville and Porto, and also a watch the towns team play football including a trip over to in Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in Africa.
Nick also regularly joined us on our annual tours around Europe, which post COVID including a train trip from St.Pancras to Palermo Sicily, in 2022, Greece and Bulgaria 2023, Bergen and Flam in Norway 2024, and in the week before his untimely death to Albania, Montenegro and Serbia.
He also returned occasionally for Saints games including the Play off Final 2024 and World Darts 2024 at Ally Pally.
Nick made many friends in his time in Spain made many new friends, as can be seen by the tributes to him on Ayamonte CF’s Facebook page, not just ex-pats by numerous Spanish, and would regularly enter conversation with these on our walks into town from his wonderful apartment overlooking the river on the Spanish/Portugese border.
He also was a full part of London Saints partaking in various representative teams and was Treasurer for many years.
This to me shows just what sort of person Nick was, so generous and welcoming to all his visitors, and the sort of person who got on with everybody wherever he went, and would anything for anyone.
He will be sorely missed.
