Norwich Carabao Cup 2nd round Away Won 0 – 3

The 3 London Saints musketeers set of to Norwich (the 2nd Nor in as many matches) for Saints 2nd round Carabao cup match. The pub chosen was the Fat Cat and Canary. The mistake I made was to get there at 4.15 and start with a Fat Cat Marmalade followed by 2 other Fat Cat beers finishing with a Plum Porter. I say this as I might be considered for MOM for getting there still standing! Anyway, we got there before the teams had come out, not a big attendance. Saints started well and Ross Stewart nearly scored when he blocked the goalkeeper’s kick. Saints got into the habit of giving the ball away in dangerous situations and McCarthy had to make some key saves. Norwich did likewise for Ross Stewart to feed Archer to curl home a left-footed shot into the far corner on 32 minutes.  Ross Stewart should have scored just before half time, just needing a touch, not going his way.  Saints began controlling the 2nd half and Ryan Fraser (the wee man) scored a deserved goal from a pass from another Ryan (Manning this time). He was substituted after that. Norwich did have one chance which would have made it squeaky bum time. The goal of the game was scored in the 81st minute from Matsuki with a superb 25-yard screamer to register his first Saints goal in his third appearance. 3 nil to the Saints a good night all round.

Three Man of the Match (not including me) to choose from :-

1 Ryan Fraser for his goal and all round performance (he was the BBC man of the match)

2.Alex McCarthy he made some crucial saves in the first half

3. Joshua Quarshie his best performance for Saints, he was strong and got his long legs in the way
