LSSC Masters Golf Tournament Saturday, 7th October, Pedro Pete Gives A ‘Master’ful Lesson
The 2017 London Saints Masters Golf sees a familiar name again engraved to the Cup – Pete ‘Pedro Bandit’ Berkeley.
His 36 Stapleford points, off a 24 handicap, was enough to claim the trophy at the lovely Letchworth Golf Club.
In second place was Paul Pearce, with 32 points and joint third was Finn Quinn and, first timer LSSC golf playe, Paul Calais. Another new face, Barry Button, also made his LSSC golfing debut at the Masters, and looked like taking the event by storm after the first 12 holes but, sadly, could not maintain his form to the end.

Letchworth is LSSC stalwart Ray Betts’ home course and everyone agreed that the hospitality and course were outstanding; the greens were quick and true and the fairways fabulous for the time of year. Ray and fellow LSSC member, Malcolm Plumbley, who won both the longest drive and nearest the pin, seamlessly organised
Sadly the weather broke at the very end of the round, leaving the last groups in rather damp around the edges.
