Darts Season ends on a high
It’s only taken ten games, or the whole season if you like, but FINALLY the darts team has won a match, edging out Plymouth 6-5, although the match wasn’t quite as close as the scoreline suggested.
In what was the worst opening team game of all time which took forever to finish, we eventually lost it. One doubles win from three left us at 3-1 down.
Then we got angry. Singles wins for Mick, Pompey Jim, Dave and Nick left us 5-3 in the lead. It was down to John and he did not let us down. In a tense game, hushed crowd, (pub was empty) hero John was concentrating on x3. The Plymouth player had chances too, but the John roar was heard once again as he slotted home.
No time for Steve to complete the last singles which we lost on the toss of a coin and the Reg joined the last team game. We lost that as well, but pub was shut as we saved ourselves from buying Plymouth a beer.
It still meant we finished 6th. from six in the league, but we all wandered home in a dream!
