Who is Saints’ Number 8?

Saints have yet to fill the Nos 8 and 11 shirts in this season’s reshuffle of squad numbers.

The most significant changes include defence shirts, with new boys Frazer Richardson at No2 and Ryan Dickson at No 5. Dan Harding shifts to No3 and Jose Fonte retains No 6.

Morgan Schneiderlin takes the old Fred Kemp shirt at No 4, with Jason Puncheon shifting to No 10. Curiously, Adam Lallana remaining at No 20 – surely a candidate for No 8 in old-fashioned terms.

Upfront, Rickie Lambert remains at No 7 and Lee Barnard is handed the No9 shirt, worn last season by Papa. David Connolly is awaiting a shirt number having signed a new deal – No 11?
