More pressure applied to pool league leaders

We beat a good Hull City side 7-2 which was a great result but Capt Reg and Chairman Mick had a bit of a mere!! Guess who lost the 2 sets of singles???

Good result though which puts us 1 point behind Boro A with 2 games left. They have finished their fixtures. So we are guaranteed at least 2nd place (even we couldn’t frig that one up!) Newcastle need 5 points from their last match against bottom club West Brom to win the league (you never know miracles do happen sometimes!!). I believe we will get medals for coming runners up.

Stevie G was a bit fortunate (again!!) and sneaked through the opening singles match followed by an immaculate performance (in terms of dress sense not pool!) by Mick Mc in winning the second frame. Then Reg & Chairman proceeded to mess things up and square the match at 2-2. On comes the re-born DT to put us 3-2 up – I think the surgeons must have sown his arm back on differently as his form has really improved since the operation – Not to mention all that practice with Daniel in his garden shed! Then a majestic performance from our Trigger to put us 4-2 up at the turn. The doubles went according to plan, winning all 3 frames comfortably despite Reg’s attempts to mess things up again in the final frame of the evening!!

Next up is Exeter on Thursday week at the White Lion. I trust everyone is ok for this. I will probably play the same 6 but there are question marks over a certain 2 players if Andy and Garry are available!!
