The new pool season is upon us

Monday, October 27, 2008

It was only a couple of weeks ago that the London Saints pool team finished last season by defeating Rotherham in the APSCIL Cup Final.

Reggie's boys start it all again as the new league season kicks off against Newcastle on November 18th followed by a match against current league champions, Derby, on December 1st.

The league consists of 9 teams with the league splitting into a two-tier system sometime in the new year. Ideally teams consist of 6 players. Matches are the best of 9 frames, consisting of 6 singles and 3 doubles ties.

Most matches will be played at The Royal Star in City Road. All matches are played in a friendly atmosphere (apart from the 'friendly' v Pompey) and new players are most welcome.

The 9 teams are-
Derby
Exeter
Hearts
Hull
Newcastle
Rotherham
Southampton
Sunderland
West Brom

Further dates will be announced as the season progresses and we will begin our defence of the knockout trophy in the new year.

Speaking of pool - look out for details of the LSSC pool and darts evening, likely to be held on Friday 21st November.
