London Saints rampant

Thursday, October 9, 2008

This friendly was arranged as a warm up for both teams as they have both entered this season's APFSCIL Cup.

Saints side was made up of 6 actual supporters and a few ringers - two of which came from the oppo! Despite all this, Saints got off to an excellent start with 3 early headed goals and went onto dominate the first half with out adding to the score. In fact it was Town who scored the next goal just before half-time.

In the second half Huddersfield scored straight away and it went to 3-2, we started to get a bit nervous, but then from the kick-off we scored with two passes and a shot. From their kick off we nicked the ball and scored straight away again, to make it 5-2 with only a few minutes of the half gone. From then on it was one-way traffic and almost everything we hit went in. There were even a few spectators on the raised walkway above the pitch clapping at our goals!

Next up it's a tough tie against Hibs in the APSSCIL Cup on October 26th. If anyone is interested in getting involved then please get in touch with Tom Carr.
