You take an early lead, the opposition claw their way back into the match and steal victory, where have you read that before?
Luckily in this case the opposition were the London Saints Dart team , who after allowing Gillingham an early lead, showed grit and determination to fight back for the victory - tho the seasoned observer may well put the second half revival down to the increasing amounts of alcohol in the players bloodstream!
After winning the opening team game, we then lost the next two pairs until Neil and Colin stopped the rot, we then lost the second team game, so it was all down to the singles, Martyn won his on double two after taking a very commanding lead.
John then had his traditional fifteen goes at double one before winning. The captain then amazingly finished on double top. Mick then won his but we are not sure how as the rest of the team were watching the final overs of the West Indies V New Zealand cricket match. Neil and Colin unfortunately lost their singles but by then the team were already celebrating their victory.
The lesson to be learnt for all budding football managers, if your team is down at half time, forget the oranges, get a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor's Landlord down their necks!
Brown Ale moment: Mick recorded the highest score of the night 130 (treble 19, treble 19, 16) only to have his celebrations cut short when he realised he only needed 119 and had bust!

What Nick did not say is that this pub (Kings Arms near Chancery Lane) is fast becoming our home pub. A nice back street boozer.....but primarily perhaps that it seems to be an all girl bar staff.....an Aussie, plus staff from Brazil and Spain......hmnnnn!
Additional reporting: Mick Strickland, Martyn Brockwell (guess who added the pub comment?!)
