It's back - the annual London Saints Cricket Club prediction competition - and it's bigger and more piss-taking than ever!
Organiser Trevor Mayhew normally consults his brother Andy in putting together the comp - but with Andy now in Japan, Mayhew.T. has thrown caution to the wind, reputations to the dogs and the idea of a succinct list of predictions on the bonfire.
So, when you've a spare afternoon between now and Sunday (the first game), get your eyes down and come up with your prediction for the final points tally of the season - eg, 83 or 833. Remember: high scores have won the past two season's competitions.
Entries to Trev at 219 Eastcote Road, Ruislip, Middlesex HA4 8BL or, much more sensible, bang him a quick email on trev.mayhew@btopenworld.com - entries are £10. Winners takes all (then is encouraged to put half into the kitty for the final game piss-up and donate other 50 per cent to the ongoing LSSC post-tsunami appeal).
THE PREDICTIONS
Big runs before the Big Day (Speedtwin's wedding, Jul 1)
Speedtwin runs for the season multiplied by 2
50 pt bonus if Speedy scores a half-century
200 pt bonus for a Speedy century
Fat Boy Three
25 points each time any of the following score a 3 (100pts for an all run 4 or more)
- Speedtwin
- Tiger
- Trev
- Johnny G
If they was a horse, you would shoot them
Points for consecutive overs bowled by any of the following:
- Jonesy
- Steve Keenan
- Kumar
- DT
5 consecutive overs 10 points
6 consecutive overs 20 points
7 consecutive overs 30 points
8 consecutive overs 40 points
The Saints go marching in
50 pts if a Saints fan is the highest run scorer
50 pts if a Saints fan is top wicket taker
50 pts if a Saints fan takes the most catches during the season
If there is a tie for any of the categories, the points will be split in proportion to the number of Saints fans joint top

" Any of these listed players get into double-figures (match not season)

" Any player scores a 50 (if SK, GS, PP, or GB 10 pts for double figures and 10pts for fifty)

o Score 25 or more
o Take at least 1 catch
" Any player scores a Season Full Monty
o More than 10 wickets
o More than 150 runs
o More than 3 catches
