It was a fine day at Lords for London Saints when we got to embrace the Friends Provident trophy won at a canter by Hampshire over Sussex.
Imram Tahir carried the trophy across the pitch to a clutch of friends and family in the Taverners Concourse (pictures courtesy of Pete Francis, centre in body text photo).
Happily, that's where a number of London Saints were celebrating - including Dave Thomas, Neil Hotston, Paul Wathan, Andy Jones, Steve Keenan and Pete Francis. Other LSSC members inside the ground included Eric Shadick, Gary Jones, Russell Beasley and Rob.
In response to repeated requests from Neil, Imram then bought the trophy to the celebrating London Saints in recognition of our three decades of supporting Hampshire and Southampton in the capital.
It was only right.
Having spent a few minutes with our boys, Imram reluctantly had to return the trophy to the Hants dressing room. Good lad. Great day.
