John "The Councillor" Griffiths was this afternoon considering his shirt position after losing his seat on Tower Hamlets council - by two votes.
In one of the last results to be announced, JG came fourth behind two fellow Lib Dems and a Labour candidate.
A mourning skipper of London Saints, DT, was tonight considering the cost implications of a shirt change to "The ex-councillor" - his new shirt having been presented on the LSSC tour to Sri Lanka only three months ago (see pic).
However, inside sources suggest there could be an alternative name - "Future MP."
The ex-councillor could not be contacted last night to comment on rumours he may now stand for Westminster. A close friend said: "At least he can now concentrate on London Saints cricket for the summer while he considers his political future. Tower Hamlet's loss is our gain."
