With cricket in the news for good and bad reasons our minds turn, with this upturn in temperatures, to the approaching season. For those of you who haven't looked at this website before, I have attached the fixtures and dates of Nets.

We have a new blogging facilicty on the website and hope to set up a ' Captains Blog ' page for the cricket season where we can contain post match banter ( which we can all interact and initiate on ) rather than blocking up everyones E Mails.

As a taster for the season I attach a Powerpoint Presentation that my son did for me last Friday night to provide inspiration for the new season (to follow shortly). He came home from school last Friday saying that he had learnt how to do a Powerpoint presentation and that he wanted to do one for me.
I must admit I was quite dismissive saying its not as easy as that and I wouldn't know where to start but I'd have a look at what he did.

You can imagine my surprise when about an hour later he said he's finished it and you can see it for yourself - immediately making me feel old and the day has arrived when my 8 year son has overtaken his old man in the computer stakes.

God knows how he did it and where he got all the pictures from but everyone put down your copies of the Skippers ' The Art of Captaincy ' and read this and learn from some of the important messages particularly those on Batting (hit the ball low); Bowling (Bowl the ball straight) Fielding (Try and catch the ball) and Wicketkeeping (It is easy ! - Daniels's words not mine - comments perhaps from Twintub and Damian ? )

Just goes to show its a simple game really which we all try and complicate.

Hopefully you can all open the Powerpoint presentation and if you can try and view it as a slide show as it come across much better and it will inspire you to great things this season ( something that took him less than hour to do , I haven't / couldn't master in 46 years and there is Skipper material in the making here - I am thinking of standing down in favour of Daniel - A Proud Dad
