Tricky start for Saints

Monday, June 16, 2008

Season 08/09 kicks off on August 9th with a trip to Cardiff City followed by a double dose of relegated sides with Birmingham at home and a trip to Derby.

Saints 'derbies' against Reading will take place on November 22nd (away) and 28th of December. Games in the capital comprise of QPR (13th Sep), Charlton (29th Nov), Palace (9th Dec) and Watford (7th Feb).

We have now become used to the amount of midweek matches in the Championship and once again this throws up the frustrations of what would have been enjoyable Saturday trips to Sheffield United, Norwich and Ipswich. Boxing Day does us no favours with a trip to Plymouth

There are a couple of decent trips early on at Doncaster and Swansea and we would hope for better weather when visiting Blackpool in March. The final game of the season should be enjoyable with a trip to Nottingham Forest
