Wright signs on

Jermaine Wright has signed a two-year deal at Saints.

The combative midfielder this morning tied up the formalities of a contract that will keep him at St Mary's until 2008.

Wright joined Saints on loan from Leeds for the last few months of last season and impressed in that time.

His contract at Leeds was terminated by mutual consent this summer and that left him a free agent.

Saints boss George Burley invited 30-year-old Wright back to Saints to join in pre-season training with a view to sorting out a contract that has now been completed.
