Jermaine Wright has parted company with Leeds United after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
The 30-year-old moved to Elland Road from Ipswich in 2004 but after a strong first season, was farmed out on loan twice last season. Wright spent the latter part of last season on loan at St.Mary's, having earlier appeared for Millwall. His performances gained mixed reviews; whilst unspectacular, he proved to be an efficient passer of the ball and played in a number of positions.
However, he has fallen out of manager Kevin Blackwell's plans and has now been told his future lies elsewhere. The midfielder is free to join another club after making 43 appearances for The Whites in his two seasons with the club. "He is now free to join another club without payment of a compensation fee."
What do you think? George Burley had him at Ipswich and knows him well - should he look to bring him to Saints on a permanent basis?
