Saints have unveiled their new home shirt. The strip, modelled by Bradley Wright-Phillips, will last two seasons . It has wider stripes and a new-style collar and goes on sale at 9am on Friday, August 4.
The shirt is also the first new home shirt to be designed with the help of Paul Lemon, aka GeckoSaint', a familiar member of the SaintsForever fans message board. He said: "It has been a dream come true to be involved with the new shirt, especially one being released at a time of great optimism for the club.
The stylish new shirt is priced at £30 for children, £35 for youth and £40 for adults (short sleeved) with £5 extra for long sleeve. It will again be available in baby and infant kit sizes (from 3 to 6 months to 3/4yrs).
The mini kits include shorts and socks and are priced at £25. There will also be a ladies fit version in sizes 8 to 18 priced at £40.
Fans will also notice that ONLY the shirt has changed this season as it has been designed to be used with the 2005/06 home short and socks.
Saints head of retail Leighton Mitchell said: "We made the decision not to change the shorts and socks primarily with parents in mind. Shorts and socks are particularly popular with children and keeping them the same as last year will hopefully reduce the need for parents to replace the entire kit at once. It was always our intention to revert back to a two-year kit cycle when our new sponsorship deal with Flybe was concluded."
The shirt will be launched at 9am on August 4 at the stadium Megastore, the WestQuay store and in Sanders Sports in Newport IOW.
It will tie in with a family fun day at St Mary's with a wide range of activities for all ages. Further details will follow soon. The new shirt is now available to pre-order (for delivery only) via the mail order hotline on 0870 220 0130 and online.
Shirt printing is also available but the club point out that they cannot print Wright-Phillips' name on any shirt smaller than a small adult shirt it just won't fit!
