Saints full-back Alexander Ostlund has been left out of Sweden's provisional squad for the World Cup.

Arguably Ostland suffered from the vast improvement made by Chris Baird, thus restricting him to sub appearances and intermittent matches. He remains on standby as coach Lars Lagerback named his squad that includes Arsenal's Freddie Ljungberg and Aston Villa captain Olof Mellberg.

Sweden will compete in England’s group along with Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago.
