Richard Wright signs on loan

The signing of West Ham's Richard Wright follows the news that Michael Poke's ankle injury, sustained in the warm-up at Hull, will keep him out for a month.

It is the latest in a series of freak injuries to Saints 'keepers. Kelvin Davies disclocated and cracked a finger having caught them in a player's shorts whilst Bartosz Bialkowski suffered a thumb injury in training.

Davies is still a doubt for Saints crucial game against Coventry so Wright could well find himself called upon.
