With everything else settled in the Championship, there’s just the man of the match summary to consider. This has to be looked at in the context of there being several games when a vote for worst performer was attracting more interest, and of course it only identifies the star for each match day, and is not a way of judging the player of the year. Anyway, here goes with a trip down memory lane:
5: Andrew Surman, Jhon Viafara
4: Youssef Safri, Stern John, Andrew Davies
3: Nathan Dyer, Phil Ifil, Kelvin Davis, Alan Bennett
2: Wayne Thomas, Jermaine Wright
1: Grzegorz Rasiak, Adam Hammill, Christian Dailly, Bradley Wright-Phillips, Rudi Skacel, Darren Powell, Gregory Vignal, Jason Euell, Chris Lucketti, Richard Wright, Chris Perry
Award witheld: Hull away.
Surman and Viafara obviously benefitted from being amongst the few who were around all season! I would venture to suggest that Mr. Pearson’s loan signings at the back would have been placed a lot higher had the season gone on much longer. Not sure about Vincent Pericard, though.
