Lucketti opts out

Friday, May 2, 2008

Despite the fact that on-loan Saints defender Chris Lucketti is available to play in the crucial final-day clash with parent club Sheffield United, he has decided to make himself unavailable. It would appear that this is because Saints are unwilling to offer him a permament deal.

Nigel Pearson said, "We're not in a position to make him a permanent deal at this moment in time which is a shame and that would have been the best solution and one that we all wanted."

Lucketti has developed a formidable partnership with fellow loanee, Chris Perry, over the past few weeks. His loss is a major blow with either Thomas or Powell as likely replacement.
