The following email was sent to Terry Trevis, LSSC's ticket co-ordinator with the club. Anyone interested? Then get in touch with Terry - his details are in the Members' Area. Beware tho - you might end up organising it yourself! Any volunteers?

Dear Terry,
I would firstly like to introduce myself my name is Jazz Bhatti I am the Diversity Officer at Southampton Football Club. My role at the club involves me working closely with local people from the surrounding communities. By using football as a vehicle I promote the diversity of the city and help people understand the benefits of a multicultural society.
I work in partnership with all the local school, youth clubs and agencies within the SO14 area of Southampton and deliver both football coaching sessions and seminars to promote the positive message of Community Cohesion.
As you may be aware we have an anti-racism campaign at the Club call ‘Racism Just Ain’t Saintly’ – and as part of the discussions at the last meeting it was decided that representatives from the Saints Supporters Club should be cordially invited to participate in our forthcoming Community Cohesion Cup 2006.
The Community Cohesion Cup is an annual five-aside football tournament that takes place at GOALS in Millbrook. It is a celebration of the city in terms of the different nationalities that live peacefully together within our communities. The competition is aimed towards people that normally do not get the opportunity to play organised football and then hopefully give them the confidence and direction to organise teams and events on their own.
Therefore the majority of teams are made of people that normally play ‘jumpers for goalposts’ – however we also invite existing teams to offer them more of a challenge. The tournament is free of charge to help encourage people to enter more teams.
As part of a unique opportunity I wish to invite you to submit a team (subject to spaces) to this tournament as you become actively involved in some of the work that is currently been undertaken by Saints in the Community. There will be prizes of 10 free tickets for the winners of the tournament for the Stoke vs. Saints game on Saturday 21st October 2006. Also the winners will be presented their trophy at pitchside during the same fixture.
I have attached the details for the tournament for your perusal if you require any further information then please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks and warm regards
Jazz Bhatti
