Our legendary long-suffering chairman Mick Strickland has been nominated as one of Saints' supporters of the year.
One of three finalists, Mick is described as "modest and reserved," which is normally true (perhaps not quite so reserved at around 6pm a fortnight ago after the London Saints hospitality day out at St Mary's).
The nomination goes on to point out Mick's unswerving support for the team, which is absolutely right, and rightly concludes that he truly deserves to be acknowledged.
Well, we've known that for years - I doubt any of us would have the patience to deal with train operating companies that Mick possesses, nor the tenacity to seek out the best fares and routes. On top of that, he is in constant contact with the clul, keeps the LSSC admin running smoothly and is always affable.
(We might also, at this point, suggest that his long-suffering partner Gill is also worthy of praise for the unglamorous but vital job of keeping a record of all this).
So we say, VOTE FOR MICK! We don't care if its the biggest viral vote in history since the New York Mets story about Rick Astley and Never Going to Give You Up
You can read all about it on the official website - otherwise it's very simple to send in your vote.
Simply email the name Mick Strickland to info@saintsfc.co.uk or text the word Fan plus A to 84287. Include your own name to be entered into a random draw for the signed shirt. Text votes cost 25p plus standard mobile tariffs.
