"Lawrie has just telephoned to say how much he enjoyed the evening and how well it went. He said we are a great bunch of fans and he appreciates the effort we make in travelling up and down the country. He sounded very genuine in his liking for us. He enjoyed seeing people who were there on that day 30 years ago and the youngsters that came last Friday week. Great chap! Lawrie did write about the evening in his Echo article - I will try and get a copy. In the last week or so I have numerous 'thanks' for the evening and how much the room enjoyed Lawrie talking. I wrote him a thank you letter which prompted his call. This was probably one of the best nights we have had - thanks to all who did their bit on the night." - LSSC chairman Mick Strickland
