Coach trip to Derby

Coach trip to Derby

Tuesday, May 8, 2007

The legendary London Saints Golden Boys coach trips are being revived with a trip planned to Derby for the second leg of the play-off semis.

LSSC sports and social secretary Reggie Betts has agreed to come out of semi-travel retirement to arrange another trip on May 15.

Fans still talk in awe of the trips in the 1990s to Manchester for the FA Cup and to Stockport, when Reggie Tours was in its prime. And then there were the trips to Cheltenham and Goodwood for the races.... "The coach company used to send me a Christmas card, said Reggie, 54, wistfully.

The price for the coach is £831 for a 39 seater exec with five tables. "If it is a goer I will arrange for a pick up at East Finchley station (at I suggest 2.30pm) and return drop off in Trafalgar Square leaving Derby at 11pm," says Reggie.

"The 2.30 drop off would allow people to only have to take a half day off work. We would need to get 28 people for £30 a head. We are playing Derby at pool tonight, I could ask Derby Jim if any Derby people want to join us. If we filled it would only be just over £21 per head."

Let Reggie know if you are interested in booking a place - email him now on Ray.Betts@hfis.co.uk
