Weirdest and most interesting take on the Southampton Echo’s response to latest Saints takeover story was the following:
“Anthony Salz was in discussions with David Bromilow re. possible investment. He is the 45th richest man in Britain and he is worth £700 million.”
Wacky enough to be true? It’s a hell of a rumour otherwise as Bromilow is very low profile and very, very rich, making most of his money from the sale of his stake in Adidas and then going on from there. Has lived in Thailand, while Salz has been touted at various times as a director/investor and chairman of Saints following his career as “finest legal mind in UK” and chair of the BBC. He lists his hobbies as his family and supporting SFC!
Ed. Thailand would be a great venue for pre-season tours!
