Saints winger Nathan Dyer could be out of action for up to three months because of an ankle injury.
Dyer has missed the last two matches after being tackled by Richard Stearman in the 2-1 win against Leicester.
An initial scan has shown damage to a tendon behind an ankle which could require an operation which would keep him sidelined for several weeks.
The 20-year-old former Saints youth player is set to see another specialist on Friday for a second opinion.
