SAINTS boss Nigel Pearson is hoping Andrew Davies makes a swift recovery from a suspected cheekbone fracture.
Davies was expected to spend Saturday night in hospital after Blackpool striker Stephen McPhee's boot caught him in the face after an hour of Saints 2-2 draw at Bloomfield Road.
The centre back had produced another solid performance at the heart of the Saints defence before being replaced by Alexander Ostlund.
Pearson said: "The situation with Andrew is a major disappointment. He's gone to hospital and is probably going to have to stay in overnight.
"He will be a big miss for us because he plays the game with commitment and drive."
