Saints player of the year, Chris Baird has handed in a transfer request.
The Northern Ireland international made his intentions known yesterday afternoon no doubt as a reaction to Fulham's £2.5 million bid and speculation regarding interest from other Premier League clubs such as Blackburn.
Baird was a revelation last season and made the most first team appearances.
He has 2 years to run on his current deal at St.Marys and Burley has spoken of offering him an improved deal. Saints could hold him to his contract but in these days of player power that rarely happens!
