"If my career started now, I might never even make the first team at an English club," says Le God in the interview in The Times.
He didn't have a great lung capacity, admits le Tiss. But while insisting he was "fairly fit," he says today's players have improved immeasurably for fitness and speed - even Portsmouth.
"They have about seven players over six foot, lightning quick and big, strong athletes. That is the way it is going."
Le Tiss also speaks about meeting Hoddle in Dubai last year and how the two have made their peace - despite Hoddle failing to pick Matt for the 1998 World Cup (despite the hattrick at an England B at Loftus Road - remember that? I do...)
"I was a stubborn git, he was stubborn and we kind of clashed," says Le Tiss. "We've made our apologies."
