Cricket Season Approaching
Following on from a disappointing 2012 in terms of the weather and results we can only look upwards for 2013. The fixtures are shown below. As usual we are open to everyone keen to take part whatever standard and believe me the standard is not that high!
What we may lack in ability we make up for in team spirit as we play a very ‘social‘ type of cricket which, whilst playing to win, does encourage participation from all. We are particularly keen on younger players (not in the Jimmy Tarbuck sense) who will help bring down the average age of the squad and undoubtedly improve our all-round fielding ability. We also have a couple of players in rehabilitation getting ready for next year’s tour to Trinidad and Tobago, making themselves unavailable this season, so there will be plenty of opportunities. You should be a member of London Saints to play but not necessarily a Saints fan so if you’d like to come along with a friend or colleague please encourage others – as long as they join the club, and are keen to embrace our ethos, they will be welcomed.
As you can see from the fixture list the games are spread around London and the home-counties (4 in Hertfordshire, 2 in Kent, I each in Surrey, Hampshire and Bedfordshire, one north London, one south London as well as two games on our tour to Somerset) so hopefully something to suit all tastes.
So if interested please contact me and come along either to the nets or some of the games.
