Cork signs four year deal

Former England Under-21 international Jack Cork has joined Southampton who have agreed an undisclosed fee with Chelsea.
The versatile midfielder, 22, came through the ranks at Stamford Bridge but failed to make any Premier League appearances and spent the majority of the last five seasons out on loan, including a short stint at St Mary’s in 2008.
Cork, who also played for current Saints manager Nigel Adkins when the two were at Scunthorpe, has signed a four-year deal with the south coast club and told saintsfc.co.uk that he joined Southampton because he feels they are a club on the up.
“There were other teams in for me but this always felt like the right option because this club is really going places and heading in the right direction, so I’m delighted to be here and can’t wait for the season to start,” he said.
“It was a massive decision to make. I had another year left at Chelsea, but I’ve been wanting to get away for a while and have been waiting for the right move to present itself.”
