LSSC going to Lords!
London Saints Cricket Club held it’s annual dinner last Friday (26th March) at the Sekara Sri Lankan restaurant, Victoria. The occasion saw the official announcement to the world’s cricketing press (well Keenan and Quinn were there) of our day at Lords to mark the 30th anniversary of our club.style=”width:400px”>
Players past and present will grace The Nursery Ground on Friday 11th of June in a 20/20 double header. A number of initiatives were announced – Steve Keenan is arranging for an official programme (with advertising space available) and John Griffiths is organising shirts to commemorate the day. Spectators are encouraged (there is a bar overlooking the ground). Further details will be announced on this site over the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, a fine evening was had by all with an excellent turnout with the usual awards handed out for 2009-
John Griffiths received his Player of the season award from DT and responded with a lengthy speech advising us not to take it too seriously! (Thanks JG)
Finn Quinn became the youngest recipient of the Duck Trophy – the first of many!
Paul Pearce once again took the ‘Champagne moment’ award.
